- David Fickling is a national treasure who might have swallowed a Marshall amplifier as a child.
- Sara Grant thinks I am a "media whore."
- Some people got really upset by my anti-NaNoWriMo post. Sorry about that.
- I want to be exactly like Sarah McIntyre and may have to resort to surgery to achieve it.
- Dave Cousins is channelling his inner Carmen Miranda.
- Katie Dale and her mum Elizabeth are never seen in the same room at once and may in fact be a single time-travelling author from the future. Or not.

- Butters (a phrase from current youth parlance meaning "butt ugly") is not a term that female writers associate with Marcus Sedgwick.
- Nick Cross has a lot of fine, funny and fabulous friends.
Thank you to everyone who organised, spoke at or attended the conference. It was an enormous success and I hope to see even more of you next year. Go SCBWI!

Isn't Katie's mum called Elizabeth? Or has she got two mums?
great to see you Nick!
No, you're right Keren! Which explains why I couldn't find her on the web. Sorry Elizabeth - I am going senile!
Guess who wishes he'd been there...
Looks like it was a great event!
Aw...! *blushes* Great to see you! :)
Fun post, Nick.
Sarah, I think you have a stalker!
Top list! Glad you had a good time, Nick.
Thanks for your post, Nick! I completely agree with you on point 1.
But really??? You've seen Candy Gourlay exhausted?? She must have been taking naps when I wasn't looking. Photo evidence required.
And... yeah, Marcus Sedgwick is not... bad looking... ehem.
I was present when Candy was unable to get out of her seat to go to the tea break! But my camera was on the blink so I couldn't get photographic confirmation. Of course, she said she was "preparing" for the next session. :-)
Oh Nick, I love love love this post!
LOL I left my Tardis out the back!! :) Fab post, Nick - lovely to see you x
LOL! Great name dropping. Fantastic post :)
Ah, Saturday was such a brilliant day. Thank you Nick for these reminders...
Brilliant Nick! I'm honoured to find myself on such a prestigious list. I had a great weekend and am suffering from severe post-scbwi conference blues. Missing you all already … Carmen x
It was brilliant, wasn't it? Great to see you there, even though it was only in passing.
